The design of this 5,600 square foot single family home in Santa Monica was rooted in a keen awareness of site and landscape and a dedication to sustainable architecture. After living in the neighborhood for over 30 years, the clients decided to build a new house that would more completely engage the landscape while seeking the highest certification offered by the U.S. Green Building Council. Designed as a linear sequence, the house unfolds as a series of spaces that are completely open to the landscape. Large expanses of glass walls pocket away allowing rooms to blur the distinction between outside and in. Fleetwood Fernandez Architects was responsible for the architecture as well as the interior design, which in addition to the sustainable finishes inherent to this type of project, features a curated selection of furnishings with many vintage pieces that extend the spirit of reuse.Save this picture!© Benny ChanSave this picture!Ground Floor PlanSave this picture!© Benny ChanProject gallerySee allShow lessKazuyo Sejima Appointed as Newest Pritzker Prize Jury MemberArchitecture News9 Principles of Ethical Redevelopment to Consider in Order to Improve Communities, N…Articles Share Structural Engineer: Lighting: Photographs:  Benny Chan Manufacturers Brands with products used in this architecture project center_img Taslimi Residence / Fleetwood Fernandez ArchitectsSave this projectSaveTaslimi Residence / Fleetwood Fernandez Architects Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design Photographs General Contractor: Manufacturers: Bulthaup, Heath Ceramics, d+b Taslimi Construction 2013 Landscape Architect: Save this picture!© Benny Chan+ 24Curated by María Francisca González Share United States ShareFacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappMailOrhttps://www.archdaily.com/888024/taslimi-residence-fleetwood-fernandez-architects Clipboard “COPY” Products translation missing: en-US.post.svg.material_description Area:  5600 ft² Year Completion year of this architecture project last_img read more
