first_imgWasim Akram hailed Pakistan’s brilliant effort to beat Sri Lanka in a do-or-die match at the ICC Champions Trophy on Monday.Chasing 237 to book a spot in the semi-finals, Pakistan were off to a solid start before quick wickets dented their progress. However, captain Sarfraz Ahmed played a captain’s knock and was ably supported by Mohammad Amir to win the contest by three wickets.Sarfraz scored an unbeaten 61 off 79 balls and was involved in a superb unbeaten 75-run stand with Amir (28 not out) for the eighth wicket.Former skipper Akram was in awe of Sarfraz and praised the captain’s knock.Come on boys brilliant effort what an innings from the captain.
