Hurricane victim needs assistance

first_imgPALMDALE – Clothing and household items are being collected for a former Rosamond resident who survived military service in Iraq only to have her New Orleans home destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Tanya Campbell, who grew up in Rosamond, has moved with her two children and her husband to Salinas, where her husband found a new job, but they own almost nothing and need almost everything to start over, friends said. United Desert Charities is collecting items through 2 p.m. Sunday at its bingo hall at 2101 E. Palmdale Blvd. The family needs girl’s clothing in size 7, boy’s clothing in size 6, and baby items for a baby due in four months, as well as cookware, appliances, bedding and other items.
