Mumbai Indians rope in Jerome Taylor as Lasith Malinga’s replacement

first_imgThe Mumbai Indians franchise has signed up West Indies fast bowler Jerome Taylor as injured Lasith Malinga’s replacement for the remainder of the Indian Premier League season. The Sri Lankan slinger was ruled out of the edition due to a recurring knee injury.With the addition of Taylor, the Mumbai’s bowling attack will be further bolstered in presence of Mitchell McClenaghan, Jasprit Bumrah and Tim Southee.Taylor made his debut at the age of 18 and has since gone on to represent West Indies in 46 Tests, 81 ODIs and 20 T20Is. He also has an ODI hat-trick to his name, which he claimed in a 2006 ICC Champions Trophy match against Australia. Moreover, Taylor was also part of the winning World Twenty20 squad this year.In the 2011 edition of IPL, Taylor played for the erstwhile Pune Warriors and picked up six wickets.last_img read more
